New Range of Pre-filled Fixative Containers
We have recently introduced a range of pre-filled containers containing 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin.(10% NBF). They can hold and store surgical samples or tissue sets from post mortem animal organ systems until ready for further processing.
The containers we supply are the popular ‘honey jar’ pattern, made from clear polystyrene. Containers have a leak proof, white rigid wadded screw cap tested to comply with EN14254 Annexe D; this makes them ideal for collecting and safely transporting pathological tissue specimens.
Container labelling is is fully compliant with current GLP and B.S. standards, CHIP 2009 and CE marked to comply with European Directive 98/97/EC for single use in vitro chemical products and transport legislation.
Advantages of Using our Pre-filled 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin Containers
By using our pre-filled fixative containers there can be considerable in-house cost savings for laboratory staff in preparation time.
Staff exposure time to formalin fumes are reduced, thereby minimizing the total atmospheric exposure limits in the laboratory environment. All containers are supplied in individual heat sealed pouches; multiple packs have a heat sealed outer wrapper.
The wide neck diameter of the containers easily facilitates the transfer and removal of tissue samples. The clear plastic construction of the containers allows easy viewing of the contents.
Fixed tissues can be archived for long periods in 10% NBF. The formation of ’formalin pigment’ in tissues subject to long storage is minimized. 10% NBF has a long shelf life with a 30 month expiry date on each batch issued.
To comply with current legislation detailed MSDS and product information sheets are issued with every order for all staff to be fully aware of all safety and regulatory requirements when using this and other chemical products supplied by Microtechnical Services.

Our 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin is formulated from puriss grade certified reagents and Purified Water B.P. to ensure that your samples are fixed under optimum conditions.
